Mumbai’s Campion School has had an illustrious history of 80 years at the forefront of education in India. Every year Campion is listed as amongst the top schools in India in ratings.
Campion’s alumni read like a who’s who in the areas of industry, management, tech, advertising, motion picture and entrepreneurship worldwide.
In its 40th anniversary of graduating the Campion class of '81 conceived something of permanence that would institutionalise the memory of two of Campion‘s most iconic professors:
Joe Sheth who spent 22 years of his life, teaching English and Stanley Gomes who taught the sciences his entire teaching career.
The inaugural edition of the Sheth-Gomes Essay Invitational was held in 2022. An essay competition, open by invitation extended by Campion to schools in the Mumbai and Thane district.
Dr Shashi Tharoor, MP, a Campion School alumnus and celebrated writer was the chief guest.
The prize money is now permanently available from a corpus that was put together by the Class of '81. The corpus has been invested such that this prize money is available for life.
Campion and class of '81 would be happy to extend the title sponsorship at a cost of Rs.15 lakhs annually. This can be extended on a right of first refusal basis or at a modest increment of 7% annually.
We are happy to extend whatever organic branding as possible to the satisfaction of the title sponsor and the school.
The funds from the title sponsor are spent entirely towards cost of event, branding, print and video edits, food and hospitality for the entrants and guests and other facets of event management.
The judges of 2024 are Rahul Dholakia - Chair, Sagarika Ghosh and Dr. Dhiraj Narula.
